The Fit Dad Plan

Hey everyone and welcome to The Fit Dad Plan website. Just so you know it was almost called something like Fitness Over Forty or Get Fit Over Forty, but most were taken 🙂

You may have guessed already from those almost titles that I'm over 40 (48 at the moment of writing this post) and I'm looking to get fit, again.

Why the ‘Fit Dad Plan’ site

So, why the site? The name of it sounds like I’m trying to sell something, but that’s certainly not my thought; least not the thought as I write this.

The idea was simple. See, I don’t have a plan at the moment, other than I have a plan to get fit.

As I am at the latter part of my 40’s I realise that I’ve probably spent more time on this planet that I will have in front of me. Now, as I have two younger kids, 9 (soon to be 10) and 5 (soon to be 6) at the time of writing this - I would love to spend enough time on the planet to see them into their 40’s.

So, the idea behind the site is to share my story, plus hold myself accountable. By sharing my weeks, my diet, exercise and weight lose, it’s holding my accountable to you all.

Plus, it gives me a place to share those things, items, exercise and anything else that helps me achieve fit.

What Is My One Thing...

So, I read this book, well many really, on how to accomplish something - well most of it related to business or work. The thing is, it all comes down to having one thing... one goal, one thing to concentrate - OK, I'm kind of paraphrasing... but in its essense you need to have that one thing that is going to motivate you to start what you finished.

I've really already talked about my one thing, my kids. Getting fit to enjoy life with them is my one goal, my one thing I am aiming for, and you are all going to help me.

You're going to help me by helping me be truthful to that goal. By sharing I am keeping myself honest, and you are keeping me honest. So, keep tuned and follow my journey of getting fit over 40.
